ARUL Kanda Kandasamy has arrived at the Finance Ministry to meet officials over the 1Malaysia Development Berhad rationalisation plan.

The 1MDB chief executive officer refused to speak to the media when he arrived at 2.44pm today, but smiled for the cameras as he was led into the building.

Yesterday, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said that Arul must explain whether the debt-laden state fund can pay RM143.75 million for the interest payment by May 30.

Lim had also added that contrary to the narrative put out by 1MDB and the previous government under Barisan Nasional, 1MDB’s debt obligations had been paid by the ministry since April 2017 and not by the rationalisation plan. – May 23, 2018.
