MACC seizes large amounts of cash, documents from Azeez's homes, offices

A HUGE amount of cash, in at least 20 foreign denominations, were seized from premises linked to Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim in Kedah and the Klang Valley yesterday, sources said.

Sources told Malaysia Decides that among the loot was RM500,000, and there was also foreign denominations which the authorities are still counting.

The raiding party from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) also seized several documents linked to the corruption investigations against the Baling lawmaker.

Investigators told Malaysia Decides that the raids were conducted simultaneously at Azeez’s Tabung Haji office in Kuala Lumpur, his house in Subang, as well as another house and service centre in Baling.

Earlier today, Azeez confirmed he tendered his resignation as Tabung Haji chairman before the MACC raids. – May 23, 2018.
