RED Shirts leader Jamal Yunos has been arrested and is being investigated under Section 34 of the Arms Act.
Selangor Police chief Mazlan Mansor said the arrest was based on a report lodged on May 12, after a photo of him “showing off” his firearm went viral on social media, and he is currently being held at a hospital.
“The suspect is still being held at the hospital as he is undergoing treatment,” he said in a statement but did not elaborate further.
Mazlan added that there are two arrest warrants out on Jamal, who is Sungai Besar Umno chief, and he is being investigated over related cases.
Section 34 of the Arms Act deals with the possession of a firearm while drunk or behaving in a disorderly manner.
If found guilty, Jamal is liable to one year in jail, a fine of RM1,000, or both. – May 22, 2018.
