MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission chief Mohd Shukri Abdull today said the agency will record the statements of “two very important witnesses” before arrests are made in its probe into SRC International and 1Malaysia Development Bhd.
“Until we get two very important witnesses… (only) then will you get the story. Now, the case is under (MACC No. 2) Azam Baki,” he was reported as saying by Bernama.
Earlier, he said former prime minister Najib Razak, who came to the MACC headquarters this morning for questioning in relation to the SRC International case, will not be arrested today.
Najib, who was questioned for four hours, will return on Thursday for further questioning.
Shukri said MACC respects Najib as a former prime minister, and he himself will not seek revenge against any party.
“We must respect him because he is our former PM. I am not going to take revenge on anybody. We will let the law speak.” – May 22, 2018.
