A TASK FORCE will be set up to ensure the delivery of Pakatan Harapan’s pledges of reform and policy changes, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail announced on her first day in office today.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has agreed to the proposal of a task force but the mechanics had yet to be ironed out, she said.
“Special focus will be given to social entrepreneurship, women’s leadership development and the Projek Harapan initiative,” she said.
Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Women and Family Development Minister, said her priority was to work with Dr Mahathir to fulfil PH’s promises to the people, particularly the 10 policy changes the coalition vowed to put into place within the first 100 days in office.
PH promised to lower the cost of living, stabilise fuel prices, write-off the Felda settlers’ debts, introduce a savings fund for housewives, raise the minimum wage, and resolve major scandals involving 1MDB, Tabung Haji, Felda, among others.
PH in its manifesto also made special pledges to five groups of people β women, senior citizens, youth, Indian Malaysians, and Felda settlers.
Dr Wan Azizah is expected to push through initiatives to improve the welfare of women and the elderly. β May 22, 2018.
