THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission sought the help of the Conference of Rulers twice to act on the RM2.6 billion deposited into former prime minister Najib Razak’s bank accounts.
MACC chief Mohd Shukri Abdull, at his first press conference today, said they sought the help of the rulers after the Najib administration disbanded the investigation team.
“We knew the RM2.6 billion case was a true story and it was too big to protect.
“Seeing that our efforts (to bring those to justice) were being hampered, we sought the help of the rulers twice, but were rebuffed.” – May 22, 2018.
