FORMER prime minister Najib Razak has withdrawn his defamation suit against former MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik.

Bernama posted on Twitter that Najib had changed his mind about suing Ling, who had accused him of misappropriating funds from state-owned 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

“Former PM Najib has withdrawn his defamation suit against Ling on the 1MDB issue,” the news agency posted on Twitter.

Najib sued Ling on October 27, 2015 over Ling’s remark at an university event which was reported in news portal. 

In March, Ling paid Najib in RM5,000 in damages after failing to strike out the suit. – May 22, 2018.
