ANWAR Ibrahim and his daughter Nurul Izzah yesterday met with the Johor sultan at the palace in Johor Baru. 

It is believed the de facto Pakatan Harapan leader was invited to the palace by the sultan. The Malay Mail reported the sultan had sent a private jet to pick up father and daughter.

Johor Crown Prince Tuanku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim was also present at the meeting. 

It is unclear what the meeting was about but the former deputy prime minister said he would be travelling before he returned to politics. 

Earlier this year, PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad had a falling out with the sultan, who had openly criticised the 93-year-old. 

However, Sultan Ibrahim was among the earliest rulers to pledge support for Mahathir after PH  won. – May 22, 2018.
