HISHAMMUDDIN Hussein has been urged to contest for the Umno president post in upcoming party elections, Bernama reported today.

Umno Tebrau division chief Maulizan Bujang said the proposal has his backing and that of several other Johor Umno division leaders.

“We strongly urge Hishammuddin Hussein to consider contesting the post of Umno president in the coming party election,” Maulizan told reporters after attending an Umno Johor Liaison Committee meeting chaired by Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

The former Tiram assemblyman said Umno could regain support, especially from youth, if new leaders like Hishammuddin and Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin can come together. – May 21, 2018.
