ALL Umno posts must be contested in the next party elections, said Johor Umno today.
Bernama reported state Umno liaison chief Mohamed Khaled Nordin as saying the decision was reached during a meeting of the state Umno liaision committee this afternoon.
“We (Johor Umno) agreed that all posts must be contested. This is an opportunity for Umno to go through reforms and demonstrate the determination to change.
“We want those elected to bring about change and rebuild Umno on a major scale… in terms of its organisational structure, operations, and offers to the Malaysian people and Malays. These were the things we discussed and agreed on today.”
He also announced that Benut assemblyman and Pontian Umno division chief Hasni Mohammad will be the Barisan Nasional opposition head in the state legislative assembly.
He said he hopes that the Pakatan Harapan state government will treat Hasni well.
“PH wants a two-party system in the country. As such, we hope that they will recognise and give the proper treatment to the opposition leader from BN.” – May 21, 2018.
