THE 1Malaysia Development Bhd task force announced by Putrajaya today will convene its first meeting tomorrow, reported Bernama.
This was confirmed by former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, who is one of the task force’s joint chiefs.
“We will meet tomorrow. We’ll talk to you guys then,” he said before leaving Ilham Tower in Kuala Lumpur today.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Mohd Shukri Abdull, former MACC chief Abu Kassim Mohamed and former Special Branch deputy director Abdul Hamid Bador are also leading the special investigative team.
Besides Gani, Abu Kassim and Shukri, too, were at Ilham Tower, where the Council of Eminent Persons has been holding meetings.
The task force, comprising the Attorney-General’s Chambers, MACC, police, Bank Negara and lawyers with expertise in 1MDB matters, has been mandated to investigate the misappropriation of 1MDB funds and cooperate with enforcement agencies abroad. – May 21, 2018.
