Najib, Rosmah leave Pekan for KL

The Malaysian Insight

FORMER prime minister Najib Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, departed for Kuala Lumpur this morning after spending a day with his supporters at his Pekan constituency.

A convoy of vehicles carrying the couple were seen leaving the Sri Kenangan residence in Pekan at around 8.20am.

Najib is expected to arrive at his private residence in Taman Duta, Kuala Lumpur, about noon today.

This evening, he is scheduled to break fast with Umno Pahang leaders at the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Najib’s movement has been closely watched since investigations into state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) were reopened following the fall of Barisan Nasional in the 14th general election.

Najib is expected to be summoned to give his statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission regarding a case involving SRC International, a company implicated in the alleged embezzlement of RM42 million from 1MDB.

Najib has denied allegations that he looted billions of ringgit from the troubled state fund. – May 21, 2018.
