NAJIB Razak has denied a report that he is seeking witness protection over the probe into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“No, no. I’m not,” the former prime minister told reporters when asked about the matter at his Seri Kenangan home in Pekan today.
It was reported yesterday that Najib had lodged a police report with the Sentul police and requested for witness protection.
He claimed in the report that his life was under threat.
Today’s clarification comes after he met a group of supporters who gathered there from 8am.
It is Najib and Rosmah Mansor’s first visit to Pekan since Barisan Nasional’s defeat on May 9.
“The people want me to come back.
“They want to show their appreciation and continue to support me for all the things I have done. They want me to continue serving them as an MP. So, I’m glad to be back,” Najib said.
He however, declined further questions before going into his Seri Kenangan residence here.
Najib, who has been Pekan MP since 1976, was dressed in a dark blue shirt, while Rosmah wore a yellow flowery baju kurung and a yellow scarf.
The couple were in good spirits. – May 20, 2018.
