NAJIB Razak has left his home along Langgak Duta in Taman Duta and is currently headed to Pekan for a series of events today.

Though the former prime minister has quit as Umno president, he is still the head of the Pekan division and the constituency’s MP.

Najib is expected to spend the night in Pekan and return to the capital on Monday morning.

He is slated to open the Pekan division branch meetings at 5pm today and break fast later with friends and supporters at his house in Pekan.

Earlier today, he greeted a delegation of Puteri Umno members at his front porch before he left in a convoy.

Tangga Batu Puteri Umno division chief Dira Abu Zahar said they were there to show support for the former party president, who she described as being in good spirits.

“Some of us were actually surprised how welcoming he was,” she said.

Najib is currently being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001.

He has also been blacklisted by the Immigration Department and barred from leaving the country.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned Najib to its headquarters next Tuesday for questioning over the SRC International Sdn Bhd case.

This follows police raids on several properties connected to Najib, including condominium units in Pavilion Residences. – May 20, 2018.
