KINABATANGAN MP Bung Moktar Radin will resign as Felcra Bhd chairman at the end of the month.
“God willing, I will hand over my resignation letter at the end of this month,” the Umno Supreme Council member told reporters at Menara Dato’ Onn today.
Yesterday, Felcra CEO Zulkarnain Md Eusope met with the Council of Eminent Persons but later told the media Bung Mokhtar’s position was not discussed.
“We only discussed operations and how to increase Felcra’s performance,” Zulkarnain was quoted as saying.
Felcra is a government agency focused on rural development via economic activity.
Last week, BN’s Shahrir Samad quit as Felda chairman with immediate effect. He said it was only right for him to relinquish his role at the institution as the government that had appointed him had lost power in GE14.
Shahrir failed to retain his Johor Bahru parliamentary seat, losing to PKR’s Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir.
Bung Moktar, meanwhile, defended his Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, with a majority of 9,478 votes. – May 19, 2018.
