This is Umno Supreme Council member Bung Moktar Radin’s terse message to Barisan Nasional components.

“I’m not worried about BN’s break-up because we can see that some other parties didn’t contribute anything.

“So, what’s the point of them staying with us? Now, it’s better for them to leave BN, so we don’t have those who are sleeping with the enemy,” he told reporters at the party’s headquarters at Menara Dato’ Onn.

Bung Moktar said even though BN would be reduced to a small team should there be departures, the coalition would remain strong.

“I’m not asking anybody to leave, but those who still want to be with us can be with us, and those who want to leave, go ahead.”

In the 14th general election, Umno won 54 parliamentary seats, MIC (2) and MCA (1).

Gerakan won no federal seats.
