ROSMAH Mansor has urged the authorities to plug leaks in their ongoing raids on premises linked to her husband, former prime minister Najib Razak.
“This, particularly, (includes) the details of the alleged items confiscated,” Rosmah said today in a statement through her lawyers from Valen, Oh and Partners.
Rosmah said she and her family will continue to help investigators, but the leaks caused a “media hailstorm” which appeared to be “targeted vilification of our family to provoke public anger”.
“Enforcement agencies should not be feeding social media trolls, but observe and uphold strict professionalism at all times,” she said, referring to seizures which have been appearing in social media.
Police raided several properties connected to Najib, including condominium units in Pavilion Residences.
They seized 284 handbag boxes, which include Hermes Birkins and Louis Vuittons, as well as 72 suitcases filled with jewellery, cash and gold.
The raids were part of an ongoing probe into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Yesterday, police had managed to open a decades-old safe, which contained foreign currencies and a wedding certificate, after more than 24 hours.
Najib’s lawyer, Harpal Singh Grewal, said the former prime minister is being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act. – May 19, 2018.
