POLICE have arrived at Najib Razak’s private home in Jalan Langgak Duta to continue their search at the premises which is entering its fourth day.
However, the number of police vehicles were fewer this morning compared with yesterday and no outriders were spotted as of 11am.
At 10.50am, Najib’s lawyer, Harpal Singh Grewal arrived at the houuse with an unidentified individual.
Police raided several properties connected to the former prime minister, including condominium units in Pavilion Residences, over the last three days.
They seized 284 handbag boxes, which included Hermes Birkins and Louis Vuittons, as well as 72 suitcases filled with jewellery, cash and gold.
The raids are part of an ongoing probe into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Yesterday, police managed to open a decades-old safe, which contained foreign currencies and old notes, after trying for more than 24 hours. They are also trying to unlock five safes in Seri Perdana, the official residence of the prime minister.
Harpal said Najib is being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act. – May 19, 2018.
