Police drill open safe in Najib's home

AFTER drilling for more than 24 hours, police have finally opened a decades-old safe in Najib Razak’s house.

Harpal Singh Grewal, the former prime minister’s lawyer, said the safe contains a few old notes and foreign currency.

“Yes (the safe has been opened). Some cash only (inside). Old notes and foreign currency that anyone keeps,” he told Malaysia Decides.

Yesterday, he said police had been drilling the safe since 8.30am.

Police started raiding Najib’s house in Taman Duta on Wednesday.

Harpal said the former prime minister is being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act. – May 18, 2018.
