Stop spreading report on raid, say police

THE police has urged social media users not to share a police report detailing the items seized from the private residence of former prime minister Najib Razak in Taman Duta.

The report, allegedly written by a senior officer from the federal police headquarters, has gone viral on the Internet, as it details the amount of cash, handbags, watches, and other valuables seized.

Federal commercial crime investigation department director Amar Singh Ishar Singh told Malaysiakini in a text message not to share the report, saying that the police would reveal all in a press conference when they were ready.

Malaysiakini also reported that although Najib was not named in that report, the address stated matched that of his residence.

Earlier today, Amar announced that police had seized 72 luggage bags of various sizes containing cash, jewellery, and other valuables from an upscale condominium at the Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur.

The police team also seized 284 handbags of various designer brands.

All the seized items were loaded into five police trucks. – May 18, 2018.
