A SAFE, which police are now trying to crack open at Najib Razak’s house, is similar to what one would see in old Chinese shops, his lawyer Harpal Grewal Singh said.
The safe is about 60cm X 60cm and “it is a small ordinary safe, which you see in all these old Chinese shops”.
Harpal was asked to describe the safe and why it could not be opened since it was a “small ordinary safe”.
“This morning, I have other things to do, so I’m not sure whether police are still there drilling or not,” Harpal told Malaysia Decides.
Police have been trying since yesterday to crack it open. They had even brought in two locksmiths, but they, too, could not break it open.
Federal commercial crime investigation department director Amar Singh said police were still unable to crack the safe, which has not been opened the past 20 years.
Earlier today, four police cars were seen entering Najib’s house compound in Taman Duta. It is not known if they had brought in another locksmith.
