NAJIB Razak’s private residence in Taman Duta is still a hive of activity, with four police cars just arrived at his house, accompanied by two outriders.
Their arrival was followed by a black Toyota Vellfire, but their occupants could not be identified.
All attention is now on the events at Najib’s house after it was reported yesterday that police were trying to crack a decades-old safe they found conducting a search on the premises.
Two locksmiths have reportedly been called to crack open the safe, but they have had no luck.
Najib’s lawyer, Harpal Grewal Singh, said that the search at Najib’s house had ended, but police are still working on opening the safe.
The search at Najib’s house began on Wednesday night.
Harpal said Najib was being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
He also said Najib and his family are still in the premises and are not under house arrest. – May 18, 2018.
