Cops still counting stash from Pavilion

The Malaysian Insight

POLICE are still counting the cash, jewellery and valuables seized from a condominium unit at the Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur.

The cash in various denominations, jewellery, watches and other valuables were stashed in 72 bags of various sizes and loaded into five police lorries.

Federal commercial crime investigation department director Amar Singh told reporters earlier today that he could not give details on the seizure as police have yet to start counting.

“But the amount is rather big,” he said.

The investigation team also seized 284 handbags of various brands, including a number of Hermes Birkins.

The items seized this morning were from only one of the six premises linked to former prime minister Najib Razak.

Police have also conducted checks at Najib’s former official residence in Seri Perdana, his private home in Taman Duta, his office at the Prime Minister’s Department and three units at Pavilion.

Amar said all the searches are linked to the massive probe into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal. – May 18, 2018.
