SEGAMBUT MP Hannah Yeoh is not wasting any time fulfilling a pledge she made to voters in her election campaign – to save Taman Rimba Kiara in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

In a Facebook post, Yeoh said she has had her first meeting with Kuala Lumpur Mayor Amin Nordin Abd Aziz on the matter.

“He informed us that DBKL has temporarily suspended all new applications for development in Kuala Lumpur.

“We also spoke about the Taman Rimba case which is pending a judicial review,” she said.

Yeoh also asked that City Hall give attention to the road conditions in Segambut.

Yeoh and the former Segambut MP, Lim Lip Eng have filed reports with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that the Federal Territories Foundation was involved in land deals totalling 170 hectares, including the land in Taman Rimba Kiara.

Yeoh said she was focusing on Taman Rimba Kiara as promised.

In June 2016, City Hall approved the development of a 29-storey block of 350 affordable housing units and eight blocks of 1,766 high-end apartment units on a 4.86ha plot of land in Taman Rimba Kiara. – May 17, 2018.
