POLICE carted away more boxes as they continued their search at Najib Razak’s private home in Jalan Langgak Duta here this evening.

Several cops who had been here since morning left in two cars followed by a Black Maria laden with the boxes which were marked “Dang Wang” and appeared to be headed for the Dang Wangi police station.

After more than 18 hours, there is no sign the search at the former prime minister’s house is coming to an end.

It is believed cops from the Bukit Aman federal commercial crimes department are still in the house.

Najib’s lawyers are also still in the house. Earlier today his lawyer Harpal Singh Grewal told Malaysia Decides he was putting together a defence team.

He said the team had to be prepared for charges to be brought against their client following the intensive police action of the last few days. 

“I am putting together a team. Those he approves will act for him. Of course there will be some lawyers who may not want to join us,” he told Malaysia Decides today.

Harpal was present when the police raided the house late yesterday night. 

He said Najib was being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. – May 17, 2018.
