PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will take over the post of education minister because he believes that many Malaysians are “uneducated”.
The Pakatan Harapan chairman said that the reason he wants to helm the ministry is because it is outdated.
“I took over because many people are uneducated.
“The system that we have is outdated and needs to be replaced,” he said at Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
In order to get the education system back on track, Dr Mahathir said he will look into using new technologies.
“We will have to consider using new technologies such as computers and teaching software to aid teachers.”
Dr Mahathir is returning as education minister, reprising a role he played as a younger man in the 70s.
His decision to handle the much politicised portfolio will be welcomed by Malaysians, who have watched in horror as a once proud system stumbled into mediocrity. – May 17, 2018.
