BARISAN Nasional leaders who were part of the previous government will not be accepted into Pakatan Harapan, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.

The prime minister said, however, BN MPs and assemblymen seeking to join PH must first leave their coalition.

“They will have to leave. Declare themselves as independents, and after that, they can join us,” he said after a PH presidential council meeting.

“However, we have decided that BN leaders who were in the government before this will not be accepted into PH.

“Maybe, in the future, we can revise this.”

The council made the decision after plans by PH components to accept defectors from BN parties were met with criticism. – May 17, 2018.
