POLICE are still at Najib Razak’s home in Taman Duta, Kuala Lumpur, this afternoon, reported Bernama.

Officers started a search of the residence last night, with Najib’s lawyer, Harpal Singh Grewal, saying the former prime minister is being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Bukit Aman commercial crimes director Amar Singh Ishar Singh confirmed police’s presence at Najib’s home this afternoon, but declined to elaborate.

Earlier today, it was reported that police have seized three boxes of personal possessions, including handbags and clothes.

“But they found nothing incriminating on these premises,” said Harpal, who confirmed that a search was also carried out on another property owned by Najib.

Asked whether Najib and his family would be arrested or questioned, the lawyer said: “We have not been told anything of that sort. We have not received notification that they will do it.”

Several premises connected to the former prime minister were raided yesterday, including his former official residence, Seri Perdana, two condominiums in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur believed to belong to his family, as well as his former office in Putrajaya. – May 17, 2018.
