DEPUTY Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail expressed astonishment that a television channel owned by Media Prima was reporting the PKR rally in Petaling Jaya live.

“We never expected live coverage from TV3,” she said to the 6,000 people at the Himpunan Merdeka Rakyat rally held to mark Anwar Ibrahim’s pardon and release from prison yesterday.

TV3 had maligned Pakatan Harapan on its programme, Buletin Utama, in the days leading up to the general election.

Dr Wan Azizah promised the PH government would not oppress the opposition, unlike the Najib Razak administration.

“We will make a smooth transition. We are grateful to celebrate Ramadan with this freedom and we know how bad the opposition was oppressed.

“Anwar was jailed and treated badly. We cannot be like that. We as the government won’t do that.” – May 17, 2018.
