THE Council of Eminent Persons is calling up former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chairman Mohd Irwan Serigar to facilitate investigations into the troubled state fund.

The Treasury secretary-general was summoned to appear at 5pm today at Ilham Tower before the council led by former finance minister Daim Zainuddin. 

The council members are former Petronas president and CEO Mohd Hassan Marican, economist Jomo Kwame Sundaram, and tycoon Robert Kuok.

It was confirmed yesterday that Irwan would move to the Public Service Department for the remainder of his service and he would no longer perform as a representative of the Finance Ministry. 

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Irwan was in cold storage pending investigations. – May 16, 2018.
