PAKATAN Harapan will not entertain politicians wanting to swap political parties after the coalition’s formation of the federal government, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The PH chairman said that politicians from other parties were encouraged to support PH, but could not officially join the coalition as members.
“There are many people who have lost that want to enter PH. The people cannot accept this.
“They can individually support, but not join parties. This (joining parties) will not sit well with the people,” Dr Mahathir said in a press conference today at Putrajaya.
The prime minister said this would prevent the current government from being corrupted like the previous Barisan Nasional government.
“We do not want this new government to be seen to be like the previous one,” Dr Mahathir said.
The 93-year old dismissed claims that he was in discussions with Sarawak Governor Taib Mahmud on the latter potentially being a part of PH.
“We have nothing to do with the Sarawak government at this moment,” Dr Mahathir said. – May 16, 2018.
