PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the country is committed to paying off 1Malaysia Development Bhd debts that have been guaranteed by the government, reported Reuters.

““We have to… if it implicates the government, the government has to pay.”

He told a news conference today that Malaysia will also reach out to Switzerland, the US, Singapore and Luxembourg, seeking the return of 1MDB funds that the countries might have received.

“The focus on corruption is important because we need to get back the money still in Switzerland, the US, Singapore and maybe Luxembourg.

“We will contact the governments of the countries to recover the money.” – May 16, 2018.
