We should keep good BN policies, says Syed Saddiq

BERSATU Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said policies put in place by the former Barisan Nasional government which benefited the people should be continued.

He cited the example of the Fit Malaysia programme under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which was helpful to youth.

“Good things, we should follow. I give an example of Fit Malaysia. I will support, whether I become a minister or not, I will support.

“The elements we don’t want are corruption, abuse of power. And policies which were drafted for political purposes and personal gain, we must reject,” he told Malaysia Decides.

He added that he saw nothing wrong with the TN50 policy drafted by former prime minister Najib Razak, but said the decision lay in the hands of the top leaders of Pakatan Harapan.

“For TN50, I need to delve into it, and consider the basis for it and also to get the opinion of the people,” he said.

“But with TN50 and the vision 2050 branding, I think generally there are no problems.”

TN50, launched in January last year, is the previous government’s road map for the country for the next 32 years.

After suffering a crushing defeat in the 14th general election, former youth and sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he is ready to hand over his duties of leading the youth to Syed Saddiq.

On Twitter, Khairy said he hopes that the 25-year-old Muar MP will be able to lead the youth well.

Khairy’s message was well received by social media users, who lauded his professionalism. – May 16, 2018.
