SELANGOR Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali arrived to meet Anwar Ibrahim at the Cheras Rehabilitation Centre today to hand over official letters from Istana Negara stating the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s agreement to grant an audience to the soon-to-be-released politician.

Azmin said the letters state that Sultan Muhammad V has agreed to grant an audience to three individuals – Azmin, Anwar and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“We will meet the king at 12.30pm,” Azmin told reporters gathered outside the hospital.

PKR leader and Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil said the Pardons board will convene at 11am and Anwar will be ushered out of the hospital after the process is completed.

“I do not know what time it will happen. But once its completed, Anwar will give a brief speech at the hospital and later to other spots before he goes home,” said Fahmi.

Anwar will be freed today, weeks ahead of his original release date in June. – May 16, 2018.
