HUNDREDS of media representatives and supporters of Anwar Ibrahim have gathered outside the Cheras Rehabilitation Centre in an atmosphere of suspense and excitement, hours before the jailed de facto PKR leader is due to be granted a pardon and released.

Many began gathering outside the centre, where Anwar had been undergoing treatment for shoulder pains, since 7am this morning waiting for the moment the iconic politician leaves the centrefor freedom.

Throngs of PKR supporters arrived in buses earlier and are waiting outside the centre’s grounds.

Guards have blocked the entrance to the building and will only allow staff, patients, and the media to enter the premises.

Traffic police were seen trying to ensure traffic flowed smoothly everywhere. – May 16, 2018.
