FORMER Kuala Lumpur mayor Elyas Omas died today at the National Heart Institute in the capital.

He was 82.

“With sadness, I wish to announce that my uncle, former mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Elyas Omar, breathed his last at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 7.15pm,” said Syahril A.Kirir on Facebook.

Elyas was the third KL mayor. He was also the Malaysian Badminton Association president.  – May 15, 2018.
