PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who is scheduled to be pardoned and released tomorrow, will need time to recuperate before returning to active politics, said Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The PKR president and Anwar’s wife urged Malaysians to give the PKR de facto leader space and allow the transition of federal power to Pakatan Harapan to be smooth and peaceful.

“Let him regain his health first and allow the transition process to go smoothly before he returns to politics,” Bernama quoted her as saying.

“His health is getting better and we are waiting for his release to celebrate Ramadan with family members and perform the tarawikh prayers.”

Dr Wan Azizah, who is also deputy prime minister, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had personally informed her that the Pardons Board would be meeting today to obtain the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s consent for Anwar’s release from jail. – May 15, 2018.
