No instruction to meet prime minister, says RoS chief

REGISTRAR of Societies director-general Suriyati Ibrahim today denied talk on social media that she had been ordered to meet Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad soon.
She told Utusan Malaysia that she had not received any orders to meet the prime minister.
“I have yet to be ordered for any further action, and I am still doing my work as usual,” she said.
Surayati was the person who announced that Bersatu, the party chaired by Dr Mahathir, had been de-registered following to the party’s failure to submit certain documents to RoS.
The announcement was made a day before Najib Razak dissolved Parliament on April 6.
Because of the de registration, Suriyati said the application to register Pakatan Harapan as a coalition had to be rejected.
Following the RoS decision, Bersatu together with three of other component parties in PH – PKR, DAP and Amanah decided to use the PKR logo to contest in the 14th general election. – May 14, 2018.
