New MACC chief tomorrow, says Dr Mahathir

The Malaysian Insight

A NEW Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief will take office tomorrow, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said following Dzulkifili Ahmad’s resignation today.

“Tomorrow I will appoint a new officer to lead the MACC,” Dr Mahathir told a press conference.

The Pakatan Harapan chairman said he did not know why Dzulkifli resigned and said it was his own decision.

“That is his choice. He may be just removed later or he can resign or take leave or go on holiday,” Dr Mahathir said adding that action will be taken if Dzulkifli is found guilty of any wrongdoing.

“If the investigations reveal that there is a case against him, then we can take action.” – May 14, 2018.
