Don’t entertain Jeffrey, says Shafie

The Malaysian Insight

Action will be taken against opposition assemblymen acting like they are in the government, said Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal.

Shafie was referring to Tambunan assemblyman Jeffrey Kitingan, who entered the Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry building today, ostensibly to begin his first day of work.

“Nobody is allowed to visit any ministries without instruction from the government at this moment.

“The state secretary knows about this. I have informed Sukarti Wakiman that Jeffrey can’t go to the ministry. By right, no one should entertain him,” he said during his first day in office.

Shafie said action would be taken against opposition assemblymen who did not follow the instruction, and confirmed that the Istana Negeri had already handed a letter to the former chief minister that he no longer had the mandate to lead the government.

“It is obvious Musa (Aman) no longer has a team to make him the chief minister,” said Shafie.

Until last night, Musa had insisted he was still the legitimate chief minister. – May 14, 2018.
