PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has barely just clocked in for his first official day in office, but his itinerary is already full.
Dr Mahathir kicked off his day with a special meeting with civil service leaders, including Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa.
Ali said the meeting was about making good on Pakatan Harapan’s 10 promises within the first 100 days of taking over government.
“Dr Mahathir is now giving his prime ministerial address and is going to discuss the implementation of 10 promises in 100 days of being in government,” tweeted Ali.
Around 11.45am, Dr Mahathir received his first foreign leader in his capacity as prime minister when Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah paid him a surprise visit at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, Putrajaya.
The purpose of his visit was unknown, but he was accompanied by his son, Prince Mateen Bolkiah.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also arrived shortly to meet Dr Mahathir before the Brunei sultan arrived. – May 15, 2018.
