SHAFIE Apdal, leader of Warisan and new chief minister of Sabah, clocked in to begin his first day in office today.
Shafie arrived at the state central administrative building in Likas just before 11am, as hundreds of Warisan supporters greeted him.
Present with him were two former Barisan Nasional members of parliament – Hamisa Samat (Tanjong Batu) and Abdul Muis Picho (Sebatik) – who defected to join Warisan.
Shafie was also greeted by Kota Kinabalu police chief M. Chandra.
The area has been placed under tight security since early today with police officers donning gas masks and carrying automatic rifles.
The heavy security follows the confusion and chaos that has erupted in the state government after former menteri besar Musa Aman was also sworn in to the same post last Wednesday. – May 14, 2018.
