PKR was waiting at the Cheras Rehabilitation Centre for Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders to discuss the cabinet line-up, party deputy president Azmin Ali said today.

He said PKR wanted to include its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim in yesterday’s discussions.

“This is not a question of us boycotting, but we wanted Anwar as de facto leader to join in the discussion. We were waiting at the hospital.

“We tried to persuade the council to meet at the hospital. It is very unfortunate that Anwar was not able to join the meeting that took place yesterday,” he told reporters at a PH victory celebration event in his Gombak parliamentary constituency.

The Selangor menteri besar said discussion on the remaining cabinet positions have not been finalised and were ongoing.

Azmin also said these discussions would include Anwar and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Anwar, who is still serving a prison term, has been receiving treatment at the Cheras centre following surgery to his shoulder.

He is expected to be given a full pardon by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong this week. – May 13, 2018.
