AROUND 6,000 PKR supporters held a peaceful protest in Nabawan today to stop Sabah’s Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) from joining Pakatan Harapan (PH).
PBRS is led by Joseph Kurup who on May 12 announced the party had left Barisan Nasional (BN) and applied to join PH.
PKR also challenged the Pensiangan election result, that saw Kurup’s son Arthur Kurup beating the party’s candidate Raymond Ahuar by 2,347 votes.
The party last night alleged vote buying and demanded the Election Commission to cancel PBRS’ victory after lodging a police report on the matter.
“We have received evidence that voters were given cash to vote for the Barisan Nasional party.
“Some of the recipients also surrendered the evidence to the authorities,” said PKR member Razeef Hakimi. – May 13, 2018.
