JOHOR Barisan Nasional assemblymen will not receive development allocations from the Pakatan Harapan-run state government, said new Menteri Besar Osman Sapian after his swearing-in today.
Osman, who is also state PH secretary and Kempas assemblyman, said this is to avoid giving “bullets to the opposition”.
“Why should we give them allocations? It’s as if we are giving them bullets to attack us.”
The 67-year-old was sworn in before Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Baru this afternoon.
In the 14th general election, PH won 36 out of the 56 seats in the Johor state assembly, but had three more added to the total following the defections of Umno assemblymen to Bersatu earlier today.
Osman said he will assess the previous state government’s projects to see which ones would be continued or halted.
“We won’t do anything drastic, so as to not scare away investors.” – May 12, 2018.
