PERAK Barisan Nasional chief Zambry Abd Kadir has confirmed that two of its assemblymen have defected to Pakatan Harapan.

“We will honour the democratic process and accept the new government recognised by the sultan (of Perak),” he said during a press conference at the menteri besar’s residence this afternoon.

Asked about the identities of the assemblymen, he said: “I don’t know. You have to ask the new menteri besar. There’s no point taking action (against the duo).”

He added: “They didn’t inform us. Never mind. We accept their decision.”

Zambry said what is important is that Perak now has a state government.

“It’s a democracy. Whether they are principled, let the people decide.”

The swearing-in of the new menteri besar is scheduled to take place at 5pm in Kuala Kangsar. – May 12, 2018.
