UMNO must close ranks and accept Najib Razak’s resignation as Umno president, said Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. 

“We accept his resignation after the results of the election,” said Shahrizat. 

She said that Wanita members have to close ranks and take stock of the reasons for the defeat. 

She said that the party will conduct a post-mortem to review what happened. 

“Umno is still a big party and we can bounce back,” she added. 

On reports that Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, had been blacklisted from leaving the country by the Immigration Department, Shahrizat waved the reporter away and left. – May 12, 2018.
