Cabinet announcement delayed

The Malaysian Insight

PAKATAN Harapan’s cabinet announcement has been delayed, as several top leaders were seen arriving at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

Among the notable figures were former Bank Negara governor Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz and former Petronas chairman Hassan Marican.

Shortly after, Inspector-General of Police Fuzi Harun and Defence Forces chief Raja Mohammad Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor arrived as well.

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to announce the cabinet positions for 10 ministers.

The portfolios include finance, home affairs, defence, education, rural development, economy, public works, transport, foreign affairs, and multimedia, science and technology.

Rumours had surfaced that Dr Mahathir would hold two portfolios, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu would be made a minister, and that Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and DAP’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng would also receive ministerial posts. – May 12, 2018.
