FORMER prime minister Najib Razak said he accepts the Immigration Department’s blacklist barring him and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, from leaving the country.
Minutes after the department announced on its social media pages that the couple were barred, Najib posted on his Facebook and Twitter that he would respect the decision.
“I have been informed that the Immigration Department of Malaysia is not allowing me and my family to leave the country. I respect the directive and will remain with my family in the country,” he said.
This caps the morning’s saga of media waiting outside the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, where Najib and Rosmah were rumoured to be leaving by private jet to Jakarta at 10am. The did not show up at the airport.
There were also conflicting reports about whether the couple had been barred from leaving the country. – May 12, 2018.
