FORMER prime minister Najib Razak did not turn up for his flight to Jakarta today, as members of the media and public gathered at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
The crowd had also harassed a passenger that turned out to be former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim, who was making his way to his swearing-in.
The police’s Light Strike Force (LSF) were then deployed to disperse the crowd, which soon grew thin in the hot afternoon weather.
Yesterday, news of Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor’s two-day retreat to Jakarta had been leaked online with details of today’s flight.
Earlier, it was reported that Najib and his wife were barred from leaving the country. However, it was dismissed by Immigration director-general Mustafar Ali, who said the couple were not blacklisted and were free to fly. – May 12, 2018.
